Don’t Be Fooled There Is No Magic Pills for Success in Business

Yes! I just purchased the best online, home-based, franchise, genie in a bottle business. I don’t have to sell anything. All I do is sit on my couch and the checks will be deposited into my bank account. All this and it cost me $39.95 for the Magic Shrink Wrapped Books. They had the online version but I don’t have a computer.

Now they did offer me a “Mentor” who will help me become rich in 30 day package for $4995. But I couldn’t do that because I bought the sea-horse pet farm business two months ago. I’ll just follow these shrink-wrapped books, place some ads on Google, “how you don’t have to sell anything at all” and become rich. I am on my way to untold fortunes. King Solomon has nothing on me!

Sounds foolish doesn’t it? But everyday person are looking for that “Magic Pill”. The one thing that will help them finally leave that job, gain that wealth, buy that house, and live a better life. I call this the “Magic Pill Syndrome”. People jump from program to program from business to business looking for that easy road to wealth. Unfortunately, the only places where Magic Pills work are in movies and fairy tales.

I don’t care what business you start or what infomercial convinced you to spend your money. The only thing that will help you succeed in business is taking action and keeping your commitments. There are thousands of successful entrepreneurs in hundreds of different industries. The common factor between them all is that they take action and they remain committed to their goals.

One problem with this “Magic Pill” syndrome is that most people do not want to work. They start these businesses and a little adversity shows up… BOOM they quit. When the initial investment is low, it makes it easier for people to walk away. They chalk it up to “well it didn’t work for me.”

Another obstacle to being successful in business is people’s unwillingness to sell. Now whether you are running a home-based business, retail storefront, network marketing, real estate investments, or some kind of product or service. YOU MUST SELL! There is no way around it. All too often I hear people say, “I don’t want to sell, I don’t know how to sell.” This is just foolishness. Don’t be seduced by the opportunities that promise you that you don’t have to sell. I mean they are selling to you now.

With the right systems and training put together with your action and commitment, you can find a business that’s right for you. A mentor or coach can help with the learning curve and help you increase your profits faster. Please be sure to do your due diligence when selecting a business and industry. The Small Business Administration can lead you in the right direction along with non-profit groups.

The only magic involved in business success is action and commitment. Commitment is the vehicle that will drive you to the finish line. Action is the fuel. Commitment and action are both needed to help you realize your goals. Start where you are, commit to being a finisher, take action, and better tools will come along to help you grow. Taking these two factors to heart will help you avoid the “Magic Pill Syndrome”.
